MIX AFTERNOONS
Mondays – Fridays: 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Although I was born in Illinois, I have always considered myself originally from Burlington, Iowa.
I attended Southeastern Community College and enjoyed over 6 years as an on-air personality for radio stations KGRS-FM, KBKB-FM, KBUR-AM, and KBKB-AM.
At Western Illinois University in Macomb, Illinois, I expanded the radio frontier to include announcing work at stations in the Macomb area. I also prepared weather forecasts and delivered them to audiences of Tri-States National Public Radio.
After earning a degree in meteorology and taking some graduate classes from Western Illinois University, I was hired as an on-camera, television meteorologist for morning and midday newscasts in Quincy, Illinois. After 6 months, I was promoted to chief meteorologist, and I forecasted, presented weather on television, and oversaw weather department operations for another 5 and a half years.
I’ve now returned home to where I began my journey, KGRS-FM – The New Mix 107.3 and KBKB-FM – Better Country 101.7 The Bull – amazing! I’m on the radio, online, social media, Facebook Live – which is like tv – and, I still do my best to look after you when severe weather and other major events happen.
I’m very thankful you’ve liked me enough to let me live my dreams I had growing up. I’ve presided over some weather and other days my younger self never could have imagined.
